Wakefield School in Huntly has announced the appointment of three new teachers for the 1987-88 school year.
John Higginson of Woodstock, Vt, will become the fourth memh^r of Wakefield’s growing French faculty. Mr. Higginson is a graduate of the Groton School and Harvard University. He has pursued graduate studies in French at the Sorbonne and the Alliance Francaise and at the Ecole Francaise of Middlebury College in Vermont. Mr. Higginson taught French and Latin for seven years at the Noble and Greenough Preparatory School in Dedham, Mass.
After leaving Noble and Greenough, Mr. Higginson coached the varsity lightweight crew at Harvard University for six years. Most recently, he has been the rowing coach at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. Since an early age, Mr. Higginson has had an interest in sailing and rowing. At Groton he was the captain of the school’s undefeated crew team. Between prep school and college, Higginson and two friends took two years off and sailed around the world on the Brigantine “Yankee.”
