• Preparation on Scholastic Apti; tude Tests, available for all students and including, as a minimum, review of appropriate English and mathematics principles and instruction in taking the tests.

• Level One of a foreign language available to all eighth graders.

• A program designed to improve the academic achievement and aspirations of culturally disadvantaged students.

• Early identification and enrollment of students in a college preparatory program, "including an emphasis on experiences that will motivate disadvantaged and minority students to attend college.”

• Instruction, by graduation, designed to help each student achieve "computer literacy. ”

• A written plan for teaching appropriate writing skills "at every grade level.” The plan must include specific requirements and culminate with a research paper and concurrent oral presentation in grade 12.

In a telephone interview Monday, Dr. Gangel said that the curriculum requirements shouldn’t present compliance problems. RCHS course offerings'pow give youngsters the option of taking 23 credits, and advanced placement classes are already provided in computer programming and calculus.
