Charles Raymond Butler, 18, of Rt. 1, Box 19, Bentonville, was killed early Thursday morning when the tractor he was driving turned over and landed on top of him.

Mr. Butler was a member of a fencing crew working on the late C. E. (Ned) Johnson’s farm off Rt. 522 in Sperryville, on property now owned by his daughter, Bet Jones. He and another worker were descending a steep slope towing a farm wagon when apparently Mr. Butler lost control of the tractor. The tractor jackknifed and tipped over, crushing Mr. Butler’s head under one of its rear wheels.
