CONCORD, N.H. — Lyndon LaRouche, who skipped the January announcement in Concord of his presidential bid because of his security concerns and did not appear in the leadoff primary state at all during his 1984 try, is back on the stump.
Two days after pleading innocent to federal obstruction-of-justice charges, LaRouche on Thursday held his third New Hampshire news conference in two weeks to discuss his “probable success” in his fourth White House bid.
“I have to become president because there’s nobody else around,” said LaRouche, labeling his foes for the Democratic presidential nomination and most of those seeking the Republican nod “idiots.”
“I am not a fringe candidate,” he said.
LaRouche, who long has predicted imminent worldwide financial collapse and espouses intricate international conspiracy theories, has rarely appeared publicly because he said he feared for his safety.
