presence of early-morning dew on the grass and the weight of a piledriving attachment on the front of
the tractor may have combined to make the rig unstable. "It probably just got away from him. I don’t think we’ll ever know whether he jumped or was thrown.”
Dr. Werner Krebser, the county’s medical examiner, pronounced Mr. Butler dead at the scene.
Fire and rescue personnel from Sperryville, Washington, Salem and Culpeper Co. 11 responded to the call.
