Republican Party candidates for the office of President of the United States have been invited to speak as guests of honor at the 11th Atoka Country Supper, Virginia’s largest annual Republican gathering, on Saturday, September 12. The affair will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at Atoka Farm, the home of Senator John W. Warner (R-Va.), near Middleburg.
Senator Paul S. Trible Jr. (RVa.) and Presidential Press Secretary James Brady will be honored guests at the old-fashioned Atoka picnic, according to Supper Chairman Georgia Root of Springfield. Republican Congressmen D. French Slaughter (7th-Va.), Stanford E. Parris (8th-Va.) and Frank R. Wolf (lOth-Va.) will also attend.
The afternoon entertainment will be provided by the Whiskey Creek Bluegrass Band from Front Royal and the Good Time Cloggers from Fredericksburg, said supper cochairman Karen West of Falls Church. Vintage automobiles provided by Winchester members of the Antique Automobile Club of America will be on display.
A country auction will be called by noted auctioneer H. Layton
