His six years of coaching at Harvard were particularly successful: the varsity eight came in second twice and won the Eastern sprints the other four years; his lightweight crews went to Henley three times during this period. Wakefield Headmaster William Lynn said that with Higginson as a valuable resource in crew coaching, the school is going to study the possibility of starting a rowing program. Mr. Higginson, his wife and daughter will live in Clarke County.
Rob Sherwood has been appointed to the Wakefield faculty as instructor in Classical Literature, English Composition and Logic. Mr. Sherwood is a graduate of Phillips Academy at Andover, Massachusetts, and of Stanford University. He has done graduate work in film production at American University and at U.C. L.A., where he received his Master of Fine Arts Degree in 1979.
For several years he worked as a screenwriter and completed eight feature scripts, including a television movie-of-the-week that was aired on ABC television in September 1986 called “Challenge of a Lifetime.”
