Washington’s Town Council has a full agenda for its meeting Sept. 9, with passage of the proposed $72,660 budget and a public hearing to consider amendments to ~"theTQstorrci!rot«ct ordinancesAlthough

th e budget was discussed at councfi’s August meeting, the absence of Treasurer Brad Fisher left the five members present with some unanswered questions about the figures included in several categories. Those will likely be raised at this month’s meeting.

By law, seven days must pass between the public hearing and passage of the budget. In fulfilling that requirement, council decided that rather than schedule a special meeting, a vote on passage would be postponed until the regular September meeting.
