Mrs. Aaron Zuckerman of Winchester, newly elected president of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs Inc., has called a meeting of its board of directors to be held Sept. 21-22 at the Charlottesville Omni, preceding a flower show symposium.

The new president, a graduate of Warren County High School, is a native and lifelong resident of Virginia. She is secretary-treasurer of Frederick Motor Company and an agent for Elite Line Associates.

Mrs. Zuckerman is a Master Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judge and has taught courses at Lord Fairfax Community College. She is a member and twice served as president of Glen Burnie Garden Club, and is also a former president of Shenandoah District.

The new VFGC president is a member and former president of the Winchester Lions Club, a member of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Museum, a member and worker (decorating houses for a Christmas tour each year) of the Society for the Preservation of Historic Winchester, and a member of the Friends of Blandy. She is also an honorary member of the board of directors of the Winchester Day Nursery and a former treasurer of the Day Nursery.

Flower Show Symposium XIX featuring sessions on artistic design and judging, horticulture and horticultural judging will be held Sept. 22-24 at the Omni. The public is invited to attend. Sponsors are the Department of Horticulture, Virginia Tech, Extension Service, and the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs Inc.
