According to the hospice spokesman, its current volunteer staff is unable to meet the requests for services, all of which are offered free of charge. During the first six months of 1987, hospice workers have assisted more than 45 families in Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison and Orange counties. The services provided by the volunteers ranged from emotional support to transportation, meals and respite care for families, as well as assisting with fund raising for hospice expenses.
