DR. D. M. HARDISON
Or. Hardison to
preach at
Gid Brown
Dr. D. M. Hardison of Chesapeake, staff evangelist at Atlantic Baptist Bible College, will conduct revival services Sept. 13-18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gid Brown Bible Church, in Gid Brown Hollow near Washington.
Dr. Hardison was born in Eastern North Carolina. Due to the death of his mother at birth, he was raised by his grandparents on a small farm. In his preaching he often uses illustrations which reflect upon his rural upbringing. He is one of a passing breed of old-fashioned preachers whose love and respect for the scriptures cannot be doubted. He offers no other solution for man’s ills than Jesus Christ the Lord.
Dr. Hardison has been preaching for more than 30 years, with more than a quarter century pastoring. He organized two independent Baptist churches and has helped to organize several others. He founded the Atlantic Baptist Bible College in 1960 and served as the college president for many years. He has served as a trustee of the school since its beginning.
Dr. Hardison has been active in the ranks of Independent Baptists for many years. He was a member of the first such church to be organized in Tidewater Virginia in the late ’40s. He served as president of the North Carolina and Virginia Independent Baptist Preachers Fellowship, and for two years was the president of the International Fellowship of Independent Baptists.
He was invited to debate at the Old Dominion University before the Emerson Forum on the subject “Liquor by the Drink,” and has preached at the Pentagon in-Washington, D.C. He edits a paper, The Circuit Rider News and has written a book, The County Parson.
Dr. Hardison has traveled throughout the Eastern United States in the field of evangelism during the past 10 years. He has preached in several foreign countries and has led numbers of tours to the Holy Land.
Come and hear this energetic preacher speak on such subjects as prophecy, revival, heaven, hell and Christian living. It will be a powerpacked hour that will pass more quickly than you can believe. Gid Brown Bible Pastor John Burke and the congregation extend an invitation to the public. For additional information, church directions* or transportation call 675-3662.
