Show was held Aug. 23-29 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, South America, with six countries participating. Swine and cattle from the United States were air freighted to the show for judging and for sale. Directing much of the preparation for the exhibit and promotion of U.S. animals was Randall Updike of Washington, Va. He works with the Department of Agriculture Division of Markets and is associated with the Virginia Swine Producers Association which is vitally interested in export, for a large market is available.
Bernard L. Jenkins of Sperryville caught an 11-pound carp last week in the Shenandoah River near Luray.
Dunny Eastham and his daughter Marion of Red Hill Farm, Amissville, will be leading trail riders this Sunday on a two and a half hour ride through the meadows and forests of their farm.
