In celebration ot National Homemakers Week, several activities are planned. On May 2 at 7:30 p.m. the Amissville Homemakers Club will hold its monthly meeting at the Baptist Church on Rt. 642. Members plan to display items they have made for nursing home patients to be distributed on May 6. New members are welcomed. Call Mary Priest at 937-4072 for more details.
On May 4, 3-7 p.m. the three Rappahannock Homemakers Clubs will sponsor the Red Cross bloodmobile at the Washington Fire House. The club will distribute small sandwiches, cookies and drinks to participants.
On May 5 at 12:30 p.m. the Homemakers Clubs will meet at the Corner Post Restaurant in Flint Hill for lunch. Homemakers and guests are invited to attend.
TOPS VA 525, Amissville, will host special speakers on May 10 at 10 a.m. The public is invited to a demonstration by Fashion Academy consultant Janet Elmore. Ms. Elmore will discuss and demonstrate proper colors, makeup, and clothing at the weekly meeting held at the United Methodist Church on Rt. 211.
