The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be giving CPR classes the weeks of May 3 and 5 and May 10 and 12, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-10. All interested individuals are urged to attend. The cost of the course will be $4 which will pay for books, supplies and refreshments. Contact Rick Johnson at 987-8655 for further information.
Birth class series
On Friday, May 6, a childbirth class series will begin at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Classes will meet on Fridays from 79 p.m. The class focus is on preparation for birth and parenthood. Call Diane Wood at 987-8267 to register.
Thrift Shop now open
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary Thrift Shop is now open for the season. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday. For additional information please contact Ruth Clark at 675-3608 who will be managing the shop on Wednesdays or Jean Alther at 675-3844 who will manage the shop on Fridays. The shop has lots of good clothes for the family and also some furniture and household items. “We look forward to your business this year,” said Mrs. Clark.
Amissville Ruritans set auction
On May 21, tentatively set for noon, the Amissville Ruritans will hold a donation and commission sale at Stuart’s Field on Rt. 211 in Amissville. The public is invited to an opening at Middle St. Gallery from 3-6 on Sunday, May 8, for an exhibition of photographs by Cynthia Mahan, David Roehler and Elsa Rosenthal.
