County will be site of
regional G&T program Thanks to Dr. David Gangel’s willingness to take on additional administrative duties, Rappahannock County will play host to a regional summer program for gifted and talented students next year. In a display of last minute largesse, the state offered the four school divisions in this region — Culpeper, Madison, Fauquier, and Rappahannock — $12,000 for a summer program for gifted students. But the other three divisions, when each was asked in turn, declined to be the fiscal agent, according to Rappahannock’s superintendent. Dr. Gangel said he agreed to have Rappahannock serve in that capacity, but only if the 1989 center for the regional summer program is here. The 1988 program will be based in Culpeper County.
