A1 Henry, the former supervisor from Jackson District, found his interpretation of the county’s zoning ordinance at odds with that of the Planning Commission last week.
Mr. Henry has a buyer for a 27-acre lot subdivided in 1983 from the 385-acre Emerson Smith farm near Amissville. But the potential purchaser wants assurance that he can divide off two acres for his son under the exemption for family transfers. “I thought family subdivisions were allowed by right,” Mr. Henry told the Planning Commissioners last Wednesday.
