Nancy Garretson, a rural Virginia weaver, visits Rappahannock County next week with her giant loom and expectations that she’ll have much in common with” the artists who have chosen this area as their home.
Some of the themes she’ll explore in her workshop May 6 at Blackwater Homestead are creating in isolation and the definition of success.
Like many rural artists, she uses landscapes and their textures and colors as an inspiration for her work. She’ll discuss motivation and inspiration, exhibit works in progress and give a short weaving demonstration, followed by discussion and a potluck supper.
