tract purchaser apply for a special exception,” advised Mike Massie, the Board of Supervisors’ representative on the Planning Commission.

“There’s no question that it’s not allowed by right, and there’s some question whether it could be allowed even by special exception,” added Mr. Fannon.

“How do you all feel about a special exception?” Mr. Henry asked the commissioners, who would make a recommendation to the board on any future permit application. He didn’t get an answer. “When I was a supervisor, I thought the intent of the ordinance was to allow family divisions ... I didn’t know the number of cuts was taken into consider-1 ation,” Mr. Henry added.

“I think if your purchaser decides to do that (apply for a special exception), it’s going to be a struggle, and a time consuming one at that,” Mr. Fannon concluded.

In other action at last Wednesday’s meeting, the Planning Commissioners voted unanimously to recommend approval for:

• A special exception permit to allow Brenizer Price to construct a second dwelling on 93 acres located off Route 522 near Woodville.

• A special use permit to allow Josephine Vest to remodel a bam into two family apartments.
