The Washington Masonic Lodge No. 78, AF & AM, meets in its lodge hall on Monday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. All Master Masons are invited.

Extended hours at Treasurer’s Office

County Treasurer Frances Foster has announced the Rappahannock Treasurer’s Office will have extended hours through the month of April in order for residents to obtain their county stickers. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Honorary Fire Chief

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is looking for young women, 12-18 years old, to compete for the title of Honorary Fire Chief. The title will be awarded at the Department’s annual carnival. For more information, contact Joyce Lillard, 987-8952.

Country Gentlemen April 29

The legendary bluegrass band The Country Gentlemen will appear at the Gay Street Theater in Washington on Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Faith Mountain, The Village Cafe, Picture This in Warrenton and Royal Oak Bookstore in Front Royal. Sponsored by RAAC, the concert is expected to attract a sell-out crowd and reservations in advance are encouraged.

Choral concert May 13

The Culpeper-Piedmont Choral Society will present its annual Spring Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, at the Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West St. Music Director Lois Shanks will lead the 50voice chorus in “An Evening of Beautiful Music” from England and the United States. With soloists, organ and orchestra, the “Requiem” by British composer John Rutter will be performed in addition to songs by Gershwin, Kern, Friml, Porter, Webber and others.
