Cloverbud camp planned
4-H Camp Cloverbud will be held Aug. 5-6 at the 4-H Center near Front Royal. This camp is designed to introduce 6, 7 and 8-year- olds who have not been to camp before to the overnight camping experience. The cost is $25. Registration information can be obtained by contacting the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619.
Mass meeting to be held
There will be a mass meeting of the Republican Party of Rappahannock County at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the courthouse in Washington. The purpose of the meeting is to elect Delegates to the 7th District Convention May 21 in Ashland, Va., and the State Convention June 10-11 in Roanoke, Va., officers and committee members of the county party for the 1988-89 term. All interested registered voters are invited to attend.
Aerobic dance and flexercise class
A six-week series of aerobic dance classes will begin Tuesday, May 3. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. at Rappahannock Elementary School. Class fee is $25 for twice a week or $35 for unlimited attendance to aerobic and flexercise classes. A six-week series of flexercise classes will begin Monday, May 2. Miss Rappahannock contest
The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad is sponsoring its annual Miss Rappahannock contest on Saturday, May 7, at 7 p.m. The contest is open to young women between 2-21 who are county residents. Contestants are asked to obtain their own sponsors at a sponsorship fee of $10. A sponsor can be any business, organization or private citizen. A new feature this year will be a Mother/Daughter pageant if there is enough interest shown. Rehearsal will be held Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at the elementary school. ‘Cinderella’ at Wolf Trap
RAAC is sponsoring a bus trip to see the Paris Ballet perform Cinderella, directed by Rudolf Nureyev. The trip is scheduled for July 13, but reservations, accompanied by half the $35 ticket price, must be made by May 1. The price includes bus fare, ballet ticket and a snack.
Bloodmobile coming
The Rappahannock Extension Homemakers are sponsoring the Red Cross bloodmobile visit to the county as part of Extension Homemakers’ Week. The bloodmobile will be at the Washington fire hall from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. Anyone over the age of 18 in good health may donate blood. _
