I endorse the eloquent statement made by Andrea Klopp in last week’s letter about the use of herbicide.
Now we are hearing about the widespread aerial spraying over our land of the insecticide Dimilin to kill the gypsy moths. This may happen soon, but it’s not too late to say no. Chemicals that are harmful to any life are harmful to all life. Consider luna moths, butterflies, crayfish and the myriad of life forms that may be harmed by this poison.
The insecticide Dimilin is toxic to shellfish as well as insects. Consider the Chesapeake Bay into which the waters of Rappahannock, Northern Virginia, Washington and Maryland flow.
