Volunteer dinner planned
Rappahannock County’s second Volunteer Recognition Dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. This will be a covered dish dinner, and all volunteers in the county are invited to attend. The guest speaker will be State Senator Kevin Miller. The dinner is sponsored by the Rappahannock County, Extension Service, the Extension Homemakers and the Volunteer Services of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Service Center. Gallery coffee house
There will be a gallery coffee house Saturday evening, May 14,4from 8:30 to midnight at the Middle St. Gallery in Washington, Va. Come and participate with a song, story, poem, music or just come lis-' ten and enjoy. Refreshments will be available. For more information call 675-3440.
Retired teachers to meet
Rappahannock Retired Teachers Association will meet Tuesday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Corner Post Restaurant in Flint Hill.
CPR classes
The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be giving CPR* classes on May 10 and 12, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7-10. All interested individuals are urged to attend. The cost of the course will be $4 which will pay for books, supplies and refreshments. Contact Rick Johnson at 987-8655 for further information.
Birth class series
On Friday, May 6, a childbirth class series will begin at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Classes will meet on Fridays from 79 p.m. The class focus is on preparation for birth and parenthood. Call Diane Wood to register at 987-8267. manager.
Ruritan auction planned
Amissville Ruritan auction is scheduled for May 21 at 4 p.m. at Stuart’s Field on Rt. 211, between Hackley’s Store and the United Methodist Church. Consignment and donated items are urgently needed. To assist in the preparation of a consolidated list of sale items, it would be appreciated if calls could be received by Sunday, May 15. However, items will be accepted through the day of sale.
