During the last four to six weeks of pregnancy, the woman is then transferred back to either the University of Virginia Hospital or the Orange County Health Department until she delivers. The delivery is done at the University of Virginia Hospital by its staff obstetricians.
The cost to the patients, as in most of the programs offered by the Health Department, is on a sliding scale which may vary from no cost for the monthly care to a maximum cost of $20 per month.
