Warren Memorial
Hospital plans
Health Fair
It’s an event which has become an annual fixture of spring, and once again Warren Memorial Hospital will join hospitals across the country in recognizing National Hospital Week, May 8-14. This year’s theme is “You're Our Specialty.”
The hospital’s observance will begin with a Health Fair on Saturday, May 7, at Warren County Junior High School in Front Royal. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be exhibits, entertainment and a number of free screenings offered to the public.
Among the screenings available at the fair are: SMA 24, blood grouping, urine sugar, Pap smears and breast exams, glaucoma and vision testing, blood pressure testing, height and weight measurement, pulmonary function testing and Ear Oximetry.
There will also be a number of health-related exhibits by the Front Royal Police Department, the Front Royal Rescue Squad, the American Lung Association, the Virginia Organ Procurement Agency, among others.
From 1-2 p.m. the RiVermont Ramblers Square Dance Club will perform, and “Smokey Sue” will be at the fair all day. All events and screenings are free, and the public is invited to attend. For more information about the Health Fair or about National Hospital Week, contact Barbara Snyder, 636-0292.
