Kate McCargin noted that approximately 1,200 Rappahannock County residents are eligible for legal aid, having incomes at or below 125 percent of the poverty level as determined by the federal government. But due to staff and funding limitations, only nine were served last year, she reported. “Obviously, we’d like to help more people in Rappahannock County . . . Obviously, there’s a larger need in Rappahannock County.”
