In the advanced examination, Wakefield junior Tobias Dengel finished seventh in Level 4. Dengel, a student of Dr. E. P. Cognon, has won awards in German, Spanish, Latin and Greek in previous years.

Amy Longyear, a Wakefield ninth grader, has placed sixth in the Spanish II level of the Potomac Division of the National Spanish Examination. The Potomac Division Includes public and private schools in the Washington, D. C., metropolitan area and Northern Virginia.
