On Friday night Mrs. Thelma Jenkins and daughter Angie, Mrs. Rhonda Baldwin, Mrs. Sandra Jenkins and daughter Donna of Nethers Mill and Mrs. Cathy Pullen of Washington were shoppers in Culpeper and had dinner at Country Cookin.

Mrs. Sandra Jenkins and Donna were overnight guests of Mrs. Thelma Jenkins and Angie while Ronnie Jenkins and son Allen and Bernard Jenkins were in Richmond attending a wrestling match. They returned home on Saturday.

Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard L. Jenkins, Richard and Angie were Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Jenkins and daughter Heather of Annandale and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky L. Pullen of Washington.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coffey Jr. and Daniel and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Foster attended the annual picnic of the Virginia Department of Transportation in Warrenton on Friday, Aug. 19. Bobby and Frank won the horseshoe tournament and Frank won the truck rodeo.

Dr. and Mrs. John P. Snead IV and their son and friends enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the Village Cafe in Washington.

Mrs. Dennis Hathaway and daughter Sara were recent guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jim Swindler.

The Sperryvifle Fire Department and Rescue Squad held its first country music and craft festival at the Sperryville Fire Department on Aug. 20 and 21. Although the much needed rain slowed the day Saturday, Sunday turned out to be very successful. We are very grateful for the volunteers in these two organizations.
