“We were extremely impressed with the hospitality shown to us by the Protocol Office personnel and other staff members of Fort Eustis,” Mr. Wingfield said. “They really took time to explain the purposes and objectives of Fort Eustis.”
Mr. Wingfield, who served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and was stationed on the aircraft carriers U. S. S. Midway and U. S. S. Valley Forge, said that he has the highest regard for the personnel at Fort Eustis. “They extended themselves to give us royal treatment during our visit.” ~ ~
Mr. Wingfield, who now lives in Sperryville, is a history teacher at Rappahannock County High School. His wife, Jody, works at the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center in Culpeper.
