improve the “business plan” aspect of CCLC’s operations by encouraging more use of the center’s facilities. “We want other organizations, parents and senior citizens, for example, to view this as a resource center, and we want to publicize this as a place where Washington, D.C. companies can bring their employees for seminars.” The visitors attending these corporate seminars at the center could stay at the county’s bed-and-breakfast inns, and in their free time tour nearby wineries and see other local tourist attractions, she added.
Mrs. Clous will not be responsible for day care staff and curriculum; Deborah Flinchum will remain the administrator in charge there. But in any case, the new CCLC director added, “Those programs are sound. They’re in excellent shape.”
