'Broadcast News'
The movie Broadcast News will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Friday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The movie stars William Hurt, Albert Brooks and Holly Hunter (all nominated for Academy Awards for their performances). Academy Award-winning director James L. Brooks (Terms of Endearment) turns to the world of newscasting for this wickedly funny romantic comedy. Chosen by the N. Y. Film Critics as Best Film of 1987, Broadcast News combines the biting satire of Network with appealing characters reminiscent of those on Brooks’ “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” The movie is rated R. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
