PTA membership drive

The PTA will begin its membership drive on Thursday, Sept. 1, which is fee day. Parents will be able to pick up PTA literature and meet PTA officers. Refreshments will be served. A surprise will be given to each child whose parents join the PTA on that day. All parents are encouraged to support the PTA.

Parent-teacher meeting at CCLC

A parent-teacher meeting will be held at the Child Care and -Learning Centers Tuesday ,:Aug, 30j at-7-p.m. T^erejwilLLe.currki, ulum planning workshops; the new director, Irene Clouse will introduce herself and give her philosophy; also new billing procedures will be discussed. Babysitting will be provided and refreshments will be available. CCLC parents or interested community residents are invited to attend.

Jenkins family reunion

The annual reunion for the relatives and friends of the late Luther E. and Ada F. Jenkins will be held Aug. 28 at the picnic area of Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria, from 11 a.m. until dark. Those attending are asked to bring a picnic lunch which will be served at 1 p.m.

Ham dinners at Hopewell

There will be a ham dinner at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lignum on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 5-7 p.m. Prices are $6 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the building fund of Hopewell. Carry-out dinners will be available. For additional information call Jack Aylor at 825-2698.
