Fruit sale
The RCHS Music Boosters fruit sale will continue through Nov. 30. For more information call the high school (987-8575). Delivery dates will be Dec. 15 and 16 from 3-5 p.m. at the Rappahannock Co-op.
Farmer's market bazaar
Craftspeople are encouraged to sign up now for space at the annual Christmas Bazaar held by the Culpeper Farmer’s Market. This year the bazaar will be held on Nov. 26 and Dec. 10, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost for a side space is $10 and $7.50 for a center space. Spaghetti dinner Dec. 8
On Thursday Dec. 8, the Rappahannock County Elementary School will hold its annual spaghetti dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale: $5 adults, all you can eat; $4 adults, single serving; $3 children under 10. Tickets are now available for the door prizes, which include dinner for two at The Inn at Little Washington, a night with breakfast at the Schoolhouse Bed and Breakfast in Flint Hill, a television and a ham. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the seventh grade’s trip to Williamsburg. The class will also be selling pizzas this week, also to benefit the trip. RCES Christmas program
The Rappahannock County Elementary School will present its annual Christmas program on Thursday, Dec. 8 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature the school’s Select Chorus, under the direction of Kathy Oshanky, leading the cast of “Santa and the Snowmobile.” Following the play the RCES band, directed by David Orth, will entertain with Christmas selections. There is no admission charge and the public is invited.
Beef Breeders Symposium
The Extension Service will hold its 1988 Beef Seedstock Breeders Symposium on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Ingleside Hotel in Staunton. The theme for this educational conference is “Breeding Balanced Trait Cattle by the Numbers.” For more information call the Extension Office (675-3619/3776).
Extension teleconference
The Virginia Extension Service is sponsoring a teleconference on Multi-Peril Crop Insurance on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 1-2:30 p.m. Central Standard Time (noon-1:30 p.m. EST). “Risk Management Strategies Using MPC1” will focus on describing the program and explaining how farmers can use crop insurance to protect their equity and cash flow position. It will also describe the requirements of the program. The program may be seen at the Culpeper Extension Office, the Northern Virginia 4-H Center outside Front Royal, and the District Extension Office in Warrenton.
