Detore children go into the kitchen, remember to discuss these points:
•Read the recipes through with your children to make sure they understand all the steps. Decide together when would be the best time for them to go into the kitchen, with you or alone.
•Set out all the ingredients and utensils needed for the recipe.
•Set out plenty of hot plates or trivets to hold the hot cookie sheets. Have dry oven mitts ready next to the oven.
•Tell the children not to wear their best clothes when cooking. Remind them to roll up their sleeves and wash their hands.
•Remind them that part of cooking is cleaning up when they have finished.
