“School regulations will definitely be in place,” Mr. Toth assured the School Board. “These seniors haven’t graduated yet.” To date, 44 students — about half the senior class — have indicated interest in going, and there will be one sponsor for every 10 students.
“I have great faith in our seniors. They’re a very responsible group,” the RCHS principal added.
“It sounds like a winner to me!” said Bryant Lee, voicing the board’s consensus to approve the traditional class outing.
“We’ll be watching this, and if it’s successful, we’ll consider other distance trips,” Superintendent David Gangel said.
“This is a testing of the waters,” cautioned Chairman Beverly Massie. “It needs to be relayed to the seniors that their behavior will determine the possibilities for other groups.”
