On Saturday, Nov. 12 in Old Hollow a number of our residents walked six miles as participants in the Turkey Walk sponsored by the Rappahannock Unit of the American Heart Association.
Each participant obtained sponsors who made contributions. The prizes were as follows: For $50 a Tshirt with the Turkey Walk logo; $125 a T-shirt and a turkey: for $250 a sweat suit and a T-shirt and turkey; and for $450 a radio and the above prizes.
A total of $2,970 was pledged and $2,368 was turned in by the 39 walkers. The goal was $4,000.
