Before earning her masters Mrs. Green worked as an elementary school librarian. While in that job she tried to work with the town library, but found them resistant to change. ‘“That’s a good idea,’ they would say, ‘but it would be a lot more work,’ and nothing came of any of my suggestions. I like the attitude of the people here,” she said. “This is a progressive area.”
During her first day on the job, last Friday, she said she was mainly interested in “getting . the routine down.” Her first major responsibility will be preparing the annual report to be submitted to the state. This will involve the budget, staffing, circulation figures and reports on books added to or withdrawn from the library’s collection. Fortunately she has copies of former annual reports to refer to.
