The Rappahannock Sheriffs

Department will patrol county dumpster sites In a move to curb abuse of the trash receptacles. Following a short executive session with 'Sheriff W.A. Buntin at last Thursday’s board meeting, supervisor vice-chairman Dick Latham announced that Buntin had been asked to vigorously enforce trash ordinances.

Last week, Hurricane David swept through Rappahannock, leaving behind three to four inches of rain in a countryside already saturated by devastating floods.

A revised motor-vehicle ordinance

and an increase in county taxes on licensing of motor vehicles will go into effect March 1, 1985. That decision was among many made September 10 during the regular meeting of Rappahannock County’s Board of Supervisors. The decision to raise to $15 the taxes charged per motorcycle and to $20 the taxes charged per automobile followed a public hearing and much discussion.
