able to find a candidate qualified for the job at the proposed salary, had to advertise the position again. Her husband pointed the ad out to her, and suggested this position might be her opportunity to pick up her career again. It had been on hold since her move to a pocket subdivision near Airlie in Fauquier County.

She put in an application and came up for an interview. “I was so enthusiastic after meeting the board,” she said. “The board has a pretty good idea of what it wants to do. It is geared to expanding the facilities.”

Mrs. Green said she had no changes in the library’s operation to recommend yet. “The library is well run,” she said. However, she will be making notes on how things are working and make recommendations to the board.

“The timing for changes will be when we are ready to move to the new building,” she said. “It’s important to be sure the space will accommodate all the programs we will have,” she added.

In the meantime she is enjoying commuting to Rappahannock from Fauquier, instead of joining all those commuting the other way from Warrenton. She is enjoying being able to “dig in the dirt” on her half-acre lot.
