Leslie M. Sutphin, 21, of Washington, was charged with failure to yield the right of way after an accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 211 and U.S. 522 at Massie’s Comer.
According to Trooper S.M. Knick, who investigated the accident, Mrs. Sutphin was crossing U.S. 211 headed south onto Rt. 675. She pulled her 1981 Ford 4-door from the crossover into the eastbound traffic lanes on U.S. 211, into the path of a 1984 GMC pickup in the right lane.
The truck, driven by Kevin D. Walker, 18, of Viewtown, was unable to stop and hit Mrs. Sutphin’s car in the passenger side door.
