Pretty girls soaring above on the flying trapeze, acrobats performing handstands on high pedestals, trained animals obeying their trainers’ every command, clowns cavorting about the three rings, magicians displaying mystical wonders, spinning objects whirling from the hands of the jugglers, the smell of popcorn and cotton candy all blended to the accompaniment of a special rousing beat of music are mixed under a huge Big Top to bring Circus Day to the communities of America.
Roberts Bros. Three Ring Circus will perform in Amissville on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Fire Department Grounds on U.S. Rt. 211 with performances scheduled for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show is sponsored by The Amissville Ruritan Club, according to Charlie Priest, chairman of the event.
The circus is crammed with entertainment for every age group and presented at reasonable prices for family participation. Advance sale tickets are less expensive than tickets sold at the circus on show day and will be sold by volunteer members of the Ruritan Club with proceeds going toward a community center building at the Club’s Stuart Field. Tickets are also available from area merchants.
