With a high pressure mass stalled to the west, skies should remain sunpy and daytime temperatures in the 60s and low 70s are predicted. Nighttime lows will dip into the mid-30s.
Fall leaf watch
Fall colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains continue near their peak, with mild temperatures and an absence of heavy rains and high winds keeping the leaves on the trees. Reports from the Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National Forest indicate that trees at the highest elevations have dropped their leaves, but the display at lower altitudes remains spectacular.
