Set the pumpkin on an upsidedown wastebasket or plastic pail covered with crepe paper, felt or cloth, and stick long bamboo skewers (the kind sold for hors d’oeuvres) over sides and back of jack-o-lantem head to hold the cookie loops. Top with a cardboard witch’s hat.
A sandwich supper to follow the decorating game can carry on the jack-o-lantern theme. Use cheese and bread/cut in rounds for closed sandwiches; make features with pimento strips, olive slices, pickle slices and prepared yellow mustard.
