Winning second place in the district event was Michael B. Lamb of Crozet, representing the Charlottesville residency, Mr. Lamb is assigned to the VDOT Yancey Mills area headquarters and won his residency title in late August.
The VDOT state competition was held Oct. 12 at the Southside Speedway in Richmond. During the contest, Mr. Compton competed with VDOT drivers representing the department’s other eight districts for the state VDOT Rodeo title.
Mr. Compton and Mr. Lamb both are Equipment Operators A. Mr. Compton has been with VDOT for 12 years, and Mr. Lamb for four years.
