A spectacular fall weekend, coupled with the annual House Tour and Oldway’s Demonstrating Craft Fair, brought thousands of visitors to Rappahannock last Saturday and Sunday.
The traffic, which is normally heavy this time of year, was the worst in the memory of Sheriff John Henry Woodward. His department, along with the county’s state trooper, spent most of Sunday afternoon trying to keep bumper-to-bumper traffic moving smoothly, albeit slowly, east on U.S. 211.
