October was an especially busy month for the Rappahannock County Garden Club.
Early on the morning of Oct. 4, members assembled at the home of Edna Metzinger, outside Sperryville. Once there, they received supplies and assignments for work on their project, “Adopt a Highway.” Several hours later, Route 231 stretching from Route 522 for two miles south was free of litter.
On Oct. 19, club members and guests traveled to Hillwood, at one time the residence of Marjorie Merriweather Post. A tour of the home and gardens was scheduled. This es
