WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr., (7th-VA) last week named L. Carter Comick III, of Charlottesville, to the post of press secretary for his Congressional operation.

Mr. Comick will replace Kirsten Fedewa, who held the position since May, 1986. A Virginia native, Cornick is currently the Assistant Press Secretary' for U.S. Congressman Wally Herger (R-CA).

“While I regret the departure of Kirsten Fedewa from my Congressional staff, I am very pleased that Carter Comick has agreed to fill the Press Secretary position. Carter is a talented and able young man, as well as an effective communicator, and I am confident he will do an outstanding job,” said Slaughter.

A 1984 graduate from the University of Virginia (UVa), Comick received his Master of Arts from UVa in 1986. He has worked for Congressman Herger as a Legislative Assistant and Assistant Press Secretay for over two and one-half years. Prior to his work with Herger, he had a brief stint at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.
