Benjamin Smith
Mr. Benjamin Franklin Smith, 69, of Culpeper, died Nov. 3, at his residence.
He was a native of Rappahannock County.
He was a retired construction worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Lindsey, Miss Frances Smith and Mrs. Linda Seale, all of Culpeper; five sons, Frank Smith Jr., Roger Smith, Billy Smith and Tim Smith, all of Culpeper, Granville Smith of Reva; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jack Smith, Ed Smith and Bud Smith, all of Front Royal, Stewart Smith . of Hyattsville, Md. and one sister, Katherine Konttoganes of Alexandria.
His wife was the late Catherine Jenkins Smith, who died Oct. 12, 1989.
His parents were the late Frank E. and Bertha Jewell Smith.
A funeral service was at Clore Funeral Home chapel on Nov. 5, with Elder Wayne Richards officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Jeffersonton.
William Settle
William Ashby Settle, 67, of Culpeper, died Nov. 2, at McGuire Veterans Administration Hospital in Richmond.
A native of Rixeyville, he was the son of the late Burl and Susie Jane Norman Settle. He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his widow, Annie Monroe Settle; four sons, William Ashby Settle Jr., Robert Lee Settle, Richard Allen Settle and Ray Arnold Settle, all of Culpeper; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Hoover Cleveland Settle and Daniel Lee Settle, both of Winchester and
