p.m. in the Lake of the Woods Church in NE Orange County. Music Director, Lois Shanks has selected the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah,” a new “Magnificat” by John Rutter and many other beloved songs of the season. The audience wall join in carols as well.
The concerts are free and open to the public, however more patrons are urgently needed to help with the several thousand dollar of seasonal expenses incurred each year. Wakefield sixth and seventh graders will be off for three days of cultural immersion in New York City, Nov. 8-11. The students will take the train from Washington, D.C.’s Union Station Thursday morning and arrive back late Saturday night.
J.J. Jones and Pamela Lynn, sixth and seventh grade history and English teachers, with several parents will guide the students through their busy three-day study tour. Visits are scheduled to the Statue of Liberty, the World Trade Center, Chinatowm, the United Nations, The Cloisters, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, Carnegie Hall, the Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a Broadway play, Black and Blue
