Murder mystery at School House

Annual talent show June 30
The Annual Rappahannock Talent and Variety Show will be held at the Gay Street Theater in Washington on Saturday, June 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Show will feature dancers, opera, folk, gospel, poetry readings, piano solos and much, much more. Come to this fun-filled evening featuring talented individuals from Rappahannock and surrounding counties. Tickets are only $5 and will be sold at the door. Burke reunion
The families of the late Lewis and Bessie Jenkins Burke will hold a reunion on Sunday, June 10 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Family members and friends are invited to attend, bringing a picnic lunch and beverage, and meet old and new friends. Lunch will be served at 12:30.
Retired teachers to meet
Rappahannock retired teachers will have a “Dutch” treat lunch on June 5 at Woodsmoke Cafe in Sperryville at 11:30 a.m. Rappahannock Retired Teachers Association would welcome any teachers living in the county whether they taught in Rappahannock or another school division.
CCLC yard sale
The Child Care and Learning Center will be having a yard sale' Saturday, June 2 from 9 to 4 at the center. Lots of childrens clothes, furniture, books and household items priced to sell. This sale is rescheduled from May 26 due to the rain.
RAAC's benefit auction
On Sunday, June 10, RAAC will hold its Second Annual Auction and Benefit Dinner at the School House Restaurant in Flint Hill. This gala evening begins at 4 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, the auction begins at 5 p.m. and the dinner follows the auction at 6 p.m. Items to be auctioned include original works of art from many Rappahannock’s artists as well as such diverse items as Wolf Trap and Kennedy Center tickets, a custom made farm sign, a spring lamb, Sam Cliffton’s design services, tennis lessons, sculpture, an overnight at the School House B&B, dinner for two at the Inn, Virginia’s finest wines and a mirror handcrafted by Gene Lyman - to name only a few.
