Roger L. Cordani of Amissville recently completed a 16-week school in Basic Police Practices and Procedures at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy in Fairfax County.
Mr. Cordani, who was graduated in the top 10 percent of his class, is a lieutenant in the Prince William County Fire Department. He is a veteran of almost 20 years in the Prince William County fire department, and started his career there as a firefighter.
Lt. Cordani is now assigned to the county fire marshal’s office as a code enforcement officer and arson investigator. The law enforcement school became a requirement for his job, he explained, after fire marshals were granted police powers in Prince William County following several incidents during investigations.
